2016 All Star Games: Vegas Style
Over 15,000 people came from all over the world to the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, NV to take part in the 2016 All Star Games. Top teams including Oregon Dream Teams, American Cheer, NJ Spirit Explosion and more strutted their stuff across one of the three stages that were dressed up with some of the finest production lights and backdrops ever seen in the cheer world.
Every year, the question is raised: how are they going to top last year’s All Star Games? For the 2016 All Star Games, Luke Johnson and David Steely not only exceeded expectations by hosting it at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and invited rapper “Wish” to headline at the opening ceremonies, but added a new event into the aerial sports mix: Parkour.
As spectators looked around, they couldn’t help but marvel at all the gorgeous All Star cheerleading uniforms. Sparkling Swarovski® crystals, vibrant colors, and sleek sublimated designs decorated Mandalay Bay Resort as more than 4,500 athletes prepared for battle.
Luke Johnson, founder of the All Star Games, made it his mission to have a competition that encouraged creativity, honored athleticism, and inspired performance. Athletes from across the world will come to Las Vegas for one weekend to show off what they’ve got in one of the six events: team and solo events in Cheer, Stunt, Synchro, Tricking, Tumbling, and the newly added Parkour. Trust us, you haven’t seen aerial sports in action until you’ve attended the All Star Games.
