GK Elite - Cheer

The Strikerz of Cheer Gym Texas Thunder in Richmond, Texas, took 2nd place in the Level 5 Restricted Division at Cheer America Nationals.  The Strikerz debuted their new GK cheer uniform this season with a design that incorporated the Strikerz' distinctive lightning bolt throughout the design.

Stephanie Hoot-Whiddon, owner of Texas Thunder, said, "We could not be more pleased with our GK cheer uniform! The Strikerz one-of a kind cheer crop top design is similar to GK's Cutting Edge Sleeve Cheer Crop Top U158 and features lightning bolt style lines across the right shoulder.  The cheer skirt features similar lines extending from the waist.  Team colors were incorporated using GK's Black, Ocean, Merlot, and Silver Mystique fabrics.  An abundance of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS throughout the binding trim add the sparkle! 

The red hot lightning bolt accent between the packed SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS "TX" on the center chest of this fierce uniform top can't be missed.  Did we mention the team name is imprinted in silver along the left sleeve?

The Cheer Leader Magazine teamed up with GK for the 2011 Cheerleader of the Year Contest.  GK was proud to be the Official Apparel Sponsor for the hugely popular contest that garners some tough competition every year.  Each TCLM Cheer Leader of the Year finalist received a kelly green GK t-shirt and the contest winners in the junior, senior, and male divisions each received a turquoise GK t-shirt.

The TCLM finalists then sported GK in an outdoor photo shoot in Dallas, Texas, modeling cheerleading apparel including custom uniforms and practice wear.  Everyone had a great time modeling the latest in GK cheer apparel!  Congratulations to all of the TCLM winners!

The most recent addition to the ICE All Star Cheerleading Family is Team Desire, a Senior L5 Restricted Coed Team that was formed earlier this season.  To start the team off right, ICE went with GK for Team Desire's practice cheerleading uniforms.

Their practice cheerleading top is GK's Strappy V Back Cheerleading Crop Top CB103, a black camisole style crop top with back straps in sylktech.  Desire is spelled out on the front in custom sequinz™ in red and silver.  Their practice tops are beautifully paired with GK's Low Rise Funky Print Cheerleading Short CB516 in Red Star Flash print.

Team Desire's practice is paying off!  They just won 1st Place at the Chicagoland National Cheerleading Championships in Chicago on March 11, 2012!

Fame Athletics in San Jose, California is a cheerleading facility with teams for all ages and skill levels, including All Star teams.  When the senior all star athletes needed new cheerleading uniforms, Fame Athletics went with GK. They looked fantastic in their new uni's recently at the Jamz National Competition Las Vegas, Nevada where the top spots were taken by their Senior Co-Ed Level 3 Team and their Small Senior Level 2 Team.

GK worked with Fame Athletics to design a spectacular cheer uniform that lights up the competition floor from the moment they step on it.  Working with a sharp combination of Black Nylon/Spandex, Ocean Mystique, and White Heavyweight Nylon/Spandex fabrics, the cheer top began as something similar to GK's Unique Web Back Crop Top U141. FA switched out the web back design with a large Ocean Blue star outlined with Clear Crystals.  They also added Ocean Blue stars to the lower sleeves and Electric Blue crystal star embellishments to the upper sleeves.  Clear crystal bling enhanced the rest of the cheer top and set off their FAME logo across the front chest. Their one-of-a-kind cheer top pairs perfectly with GK's Low Rise Wrapped Band Skirt U707L in the same fabrics and Clear crystal embellishments.

Though the Great White North has been historically a hockey nation where cheerleaders are seldom, if ever, seen, the sport of competitive cheerleading has been growing in popularity over the past decade.  Most of the grass roots cheerleading programs in Canada sprang out of school based squads, but more and more competitive cheer programs are starting out as a stand alone sport and not just in support of another activity.

The Cheersport Sharks of Cambridge, Ontario are a testament to just how big competitive cheerleading has become in Canada.  The Sharks recently moved into a state-of-the-art, custom built, 18,000 square foot cheer gym dubbed, "The Shark Tank."  The Sharks also recently celebrated a huge win after capturing 1st place at the 2011 Cheer Evolution Nationals in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  They also won the Level 5 Grand Champion banner and were the highest scoring team of the event. 

These Canadian cheerleaders are blazing their own trail and are sporting GK cheerleading uniforms on their journey!
 

The Senior Pom Team from Dance Mania All-Stars in Melbourne, Florida went with GK for their new dance uniforms and they looked fabulous!  At the recent Jamfest Dance Super Nationals in Cincinnati, Ohio, the dancers secured a World's Bid the first time out in their new custom GK dance uniforms.

Dana Parsons, Owner of Dance Mania All-Stars, LLC and Head Coach of the Senior Pom Team said, "Our season is going wonderfully!  The girls are kicking butt, having a blast, and looking forward to Worlds!  We love our GK dance uniforms!  We get so many compliments on them by fans and judges.  They are comfortable and durable!"

Dance Mania's uniform top is similar to GK's Wide Strap Off The Shoulder Top U166L, and is paired with GK's Wide Stripe Skirt U730R.  To create their own custom look, both Dance Mania pieces were created with mostly Black Nylon/Spandex, set off beautifully with Gold Mystique and accents of Leapin Leopard fabric for a bit of an edge.  The dancers also ordered perfectly matching hair bows from GK's Product Partner, Bowdacious Cheer Bows.

The Cheer Leader Magazine recently worked with GK to host a Meet & Greet during NCA in Dallas, Texas.  The Meet & Greet was a popular event, with cheerleaders lining up to get free t-shirts, photos, and autographs from their favorite athletes.  Guest Appearances included GK cover model, Kiara Nowlin, Whitney Love, Kesley Rule, and Toni Bronisevsky of World Cup Shooting Stars and Gabi Butler and Megan Glisson of Top Gun All Stars.  The TCLM Suite at the Omni Hotel was sponsored by Nfinity Shoes, Cheer Soxx, and Wink Performance Cosmetics.

Leap of Faith Gymnastics/Cheer in Clarion, Pennsylvania is home to the Leopards All Star Cheerleaders.  The Leopards needed a fresh, new look so they came to GK to get it!  One of their All Star Cheerleaders, Laken, said, "When I wear my GK Uniform, it makes me want to do my best! The Fusion 5 All Stars from Powerhouse Training Center in Fairmont, West Virginia rocked their first competition in new, custom GK cheer uniforms.  Staying true to their rock-star mentality, PTC chose some metal-looking fabric colors of Black Sparkle, Black DryTech, Electric Turquoise Mystique, and White Mystique to compliment their edgy cheer top and skirt.

Their cheer top is similar to GK's Cutting Edge Sleeve Cheer Crop Top U158 with an asymmetrical neckline, modern curling sleeve design, solid left sleeve and wide Y shoulder strap.  Fusion 5 made a look of their own with a detailed curling design extending to the upper chest and back, with a contrasting sleeve color, covered in Clear jewels.  The cheer skirt is a completely custom creation, similar in style to GK's Right Side Swirl Cheer Skirt U733R, a regular rise cheer skirt with elastic waistband and side slits, but with the same edgy design as their cheer top and scattered bling with Clear crystals.  Their "fusion 5" logo is made up of Clear crystals on the front and back of the cheer top.

Pacific Coast Magic is a premier all star cheerleading facility in California, boasting four gyms under its umbrella.  Their latest competition results are a testament to their success in the sport of all star cheerleading.  The Spirit Sports "Duel in the Desert," one of the largest West Coast cheerleading competitions, took place the first weekend in February in Palm Springs, California and the athletes from PC did their Orange & Purple proud!

The Small Senior 5 Team, Fantasy, won a paid bid to worlds and their Open Coed Level 5 Team, Karma, captured an at-large bid to worlds.  Way to go PCM!

PCM chose GK to design their latest uniforms for four of their all star teams.  Kellie E. Elliott, Co-Owner of Pacific Coast Magic said, "As an owner in the all star cheerleading industry, I believe the look for our program must exemplify style, class, comfort, and beauty on the competition floor.  GK's fabrics and fit are the best in the industry and I am so proud of our newly designed GK uniforms for this year!"

PCM's Fantasy and Believe teams created a beautiful custom cheerleading uniform made of mostly White Heavyweight and Purple Nylon/Spandex fabrics.  Silver and Sunshine Mystique were used for the abstract flames on the cheer top and for the unique straps.  A Sunshine Mystique applique logo was added and then covered in Clear Crystals.  Clear Crystals throughout their design make their uniform sparkle.  The coordinating skirt echoes the same curving design and sparkle as their crop top.

The Mysterious and Karma teams went with a statement-making cheer top for the men and women with Sunshine Mystique ribbons accenting each of the cheer tops.  The same Purple Nylon/Spandex and White Heavyweight fabrics were used, but the PCM logo here is a Sunshine Mystique and Purple Nylon/Spandex applique.  Clear and Mango Crystals bring a sparkling finishing touch to the cheer uniforms.

Express Cheer & Dance based in Frisco, Texas is home to five levels of All Star Cheerleading Teams and their newest addition, Team IMPACT, a recreational All Star team.

The Speed Athletics All Stars from Westfield, Indianapolis, hit the competition floor at Turbo Jam this past November sporting their new, special order, GK cheer uniforms. Both Level 4 and Level 5 teams have had an amazing season so far with the Senior 4 Coed and Senior 5 Restricted taking 1st place at their latest competition, Xtreme Spirit Mardi Gras. 

The Level 4 and 5 cheerleaders from Speed Athletics chose special order style Open Shoulder Crop Top U140 which they paired with Low Rise Cheerleading Skirt U711L, with a triple stripe hem, left leg slit and elastic waistband.  The men's cheerleading uniform is GK's Men's V Neck Tripe Stripe Top UM113 paired with Men's Triple Stripe Pant UM503.  The fabrics for all of the cheer uniforms are a bold combination of mostly Ocean and White Mystique with just a hint of Sunshine Mystique along the necklines, hems and style lines.  The Speed logo is spelled out on the front of the women's and men's cheer top in clear and mango colored SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.  The Speed Athletics All Stars are ready to win!

The Penn State Lionettes Dance Team serves as an ambassador for Penn State University, according to the school's Official Athletic Website, modeling a positive image and promoting spirit at athletic and charity events. GoPSUSports.com states the Lionettes were first founded over ten years ago as a kickline team, the group became a club sport in 1995. Current Dance Team Advisor, Sue Sherburne, joined the team in 1997 and she and former Academic Advisor, Don Ferrell, helped the team to gain campus-wide recognition at athletic and community events.  More exposure called for new uniforms and GK was happy to assist the Lionettes with a fresh, new look. 

The Lionettes created a custom Dance Top similar in style to GK's V Open Back Dance Top DM25, a color block dance tank with empire seam and back cut out detail. PSU pride is on display with White DryTech, Silver Mystique and Navy DryTech fabrics. The dance tanks feature navy blue PSU imprinting on the center chest and white Lions imprinting on the center back. The team chose GK's Bootcut Dance Pant DM31 in Navy DryTech to match their dance tops perfectly.
