I have a daughter and a son. I have seen both at practices and i have to say that the cheerleaders practice 10 times harder. Thats why i think its a sport...

Cheerleading is just as much a sport as any other thing we call sports. We put hours and hours each week into one routine for two minutes and thirty seconds at a competition. If you think your in shape, try to go through conditioning with us. Its not going to be easy. If you dont think cheerleading is a sport, why dont you try to do what we do. You'll be changing your mind, trust me.

I've played boy's ice hockey for 10 years (I'm a girl) and have cheered for 4. I can honestly say that I am worked harder and longer at cheer than I am at hockey. In cheer I have to excel in 4 areas and I have so much body control. Cheer works every muscle in the body, including face muscles because we have to smile through it all!
